| What am I required to do as a CAP student?
Before Orientation:
- Prepare yourself to take the College Placement Test (CPT) for
the area your scores reflect you are below in. There is a $5.00
CPT administration fee per exam needed that must be paid at time of testing by
check or money order only (no cash). Students who do not take the CPT will
be placed in the lowest level preparatory course available.

823-5130, if you have updated test scores, dual enrollment, advanced
placement, or CPT scores from another institutions that could
exempt you from being a CAP student.
- Review the UCF catalog on-line at http://www.ucf.edu/catalog/current/toc.html
to get a better understanding of your area of study.
- Create an email account, if you do not currently have one.
- Obtain PID and NID registration
information

During Orientation:
- Meet with the CAP advisor at 8am the first day of Orientation
for a CAP overview session.
- Take the CPT at the designated time (provided at the CAP overview
session).
- Meet with the CAP advisor during the designated time (check
Orientation schedule) to obtain CPT scores and preparatory placement.
- Complete preparatory course registration packet from Valencia
Community College (a $25 application fee must be paid at orientation
or you will not be allowed to register for UCF courses.
After Orientation:
- Successfully complete your required preparatory course(s) within
3 consecutive semesters.
- Attend all academic advising requirements each semester.
- Maintain current contact information with your advising office.
